What a Week for Energetic Cosmic Energy.

           Here we are in time. Late Spring 2012. With all kinds of prophecy being speculated and major cosmic events actually occurring at an accelerated rate,  and ALL this information coming at us, what is GOING ON? Well that is anyone's guess. What can I control in this life? ME. So, cultivate peace, sit back and enjoy the show.
          This week already, we have had a Lunar Eclipse (June 5), the Venus Transit (June 5) AND, we have had 2 M CLASS Solar Flares and a Geomagnetic Storm. Geomagnetic Storms can interfere with cellular and satellite technologies, making simple tasks and communications from our computers or phones a source of stress. What this means to me: a good time to stay grounded!! If the plans you made for the day aren't working out, change or postpone them. This is the meaning of mental flexibility.
Allow yourself the freedom to let go of one plan in favor of the one that actually works in the moment. We can save ourselves a lot of grief by remaining flexible, in more ways than one!
         Yoga is a tool to create a favorable state of mind, body and spirit. Your Yoga practice can be used to enhance whatever else you are already into in life. I wait tables in a busy restaurant and often find myself utilizing the 'Oujai Breath' Pranayama technique to deal with moments of stress. I also love playing rocknroll music. There again,Yoga was there. I had no band and wanted one intensely. I started visualizing myself during my practice in a band that I totally loved, guess what, it's done now, I have the band, it's happening, no problem. Honestly, there are really no areas left in my life that Yoga has not affected in a positive way. This practice has given me so much, it is hard to believe. If I didn't know it from my own experience, I wouldn't believe it.
           You need not be perfect or completely healthy to begin it. Yoga is a practice that will heal, over time, conditions of the entire being, in an integrated fashion. Beginning does not require that you have conquered every vice or "negative" habit. However, Yoga IS a positive habit that can counter-act and eventually overshadow less favorable habits when practiced with consistency.
So Let's do it. Classes begin at 11am tomorrow morning.
